On Sunday 22nd February, our Cubs and Scouts set off on a brilliant local hike to celebrate Founder’s Day, marking the birthday of Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting.

The adventure began at our HQ before the group headed west into Milkwellburn Woods, enjoying the fresh air and exploring the woodland trails. From there, we continued down into Blackhall Mill, before making the climb back up through the beautiful surroundings of Chopwell Woods.

The hike was a fantastic way for our young people to experience the outdoors, work together as a team, and enjoy plenty of fun along the way. It perfectly captured the spirit of Scouting – adventure, friendship, and learning new skills.

After a great day of walking and exploring, the group returned to HQ with plenty of smiles and memories from a brilliant day out celebrating Founder’s Day together.
